Forget Me Not
Myosotis alpestris

Alaska State Flower History:

The Alpine Forget-Me-Not is Alaska 's state flower. Chosen in 1949, the Alpine forget-me-not is a perennial that grows 5 to 12 inches high in alpine meadows. Connected by five saviform petals, the flowers are colored sky blue and are a quarter to a third of an inch wide. Their yellow center is accented by a white inner ring.

Midsummer, from late June to late July, is the best time to see the Alpine Forget-Me-Not. Along with Alaska 's state flower, you might be able to find the Mountain Forget-Me-Not (Eritrichium aretiodes) and possibly the splendid forget-me-not (Eritrichium splendens).
